Surrounded by picturesque lawns and gardens, The Old Swan was once the famous retreat of Agatha Christie. It offers modern rooms with private bathrooms and on-site car parking. Originally an 18th-century coaching inn, it now features rooms with tea and coffee-making facilities, a TV and trouser press. Some also have a stand-alone bath and views over the garden. The traditional Swan Lounge and Bar offers a selection of beverages and afternoon teas, while the Wedgewood and Library restaurants serve fresh, locally sourced dishes. The Old Swan was home to Agatha Christie during her disappearance in 1926, and has since been used as a film set for the 1979 film, Agatha. Just a short walk from Harrogate town center, the building is 5 minutes’ walk from the famous Betty’s Tearoom and 15 minutes from Harrogate Railway Station.

Like stepping to the best time warp. The Hotel was a wonder to behold. Lovely building inside and out, great setting, amazing atmosphere and simply some of the best staff / customer service, I have had in a long time. All that and great value too
Nothing other a lick of paint here or there. All wera and tear and nothing serious at all.

Bathroom was small with shower only. Biggest moan is room was very cold. Additional plug in heater in room was not sufficient to keep room warm

Lovely hotel close to town we easy stroll
Price for drinks, had a steak in the restaurant and had to pay which we paid a supplement for and had to pay extra if we wanted veg.

Very clean, comfortable hotel, fantastic location, easy parking and friendly staff, plus a wonderful Christmas atmosphere.
The breakfast was good, but I wouldn't recommend the evening meal, it was quite processed. I wouldn't book half board again, but would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast choices are very good, as is the service, while the hot food is decently cooked and of reasonable quality. The Library Lounge, with its select range of books and table-top games, is an oasis of calm and relaxation.
